Checklist of Tests Before Having Sex

This is crucial if you want to avoid health issues and plan a smooth pregnancy and healthy baby. So, forget the embarrassment! Suggest to your partner to get tested, preferably even before your first time together!

Tests to do before stopping using condoms:

1️⃣ Mycoplasma genitalium (women: vaginal swab, men: urine test)
2️⃣ Gonococcus (women: vaginal swab, men: urine test)
3️⃣ Chlamydia trachomatis (women: vaginal swab, men: urine test)
4️⃣ Trichomonas vaginalis (women: vaginal swab, men: urine test)
5️⃣ Hepatitis B (HBsAg — 2–9 weeks after contact / PCR — 1–2 weeks)
6️⃣ Hepatitis C (ELISA — 4–12 weeks, PCR — 1–2 weeks)
7️⃣ HIV (ELISA/PCR)
8️⃣ Syphilis (ELISA)
9️⃣ Ureaplasma (2 types)

Rules for sample collection:

🔺 No antibiotics for 1 month before testing
🔺 2 days before tests: avoid local antiseptics (Miramistin, chlorhexidine, potassium permanganate)
🔺 Do not urinate for 2 hours before the test
